Description

In 1859, you and your friends take on the roles of investors in the railroad industry, building a network of train routes across the country. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, you'll be up and running in no time, competing to build the most efficient and profitable rail network. As you navigate the world of 19th-century transportation, you'll need to balance building new routes with managing your stock holdings, all while trying to outmaneuver your opponents. With 3 to 5 players, the game can take anywhere from 120 to 240 minutes to play, giving you plenty of time to develop your strategy and see it through. Designed by John Bohrer and published in 2016, 1859 is an economic game that's all about building and managing your railroad empire, making it a great choice for fans of trains and transportation games.
