In Tabriz: The Card Game, you'll achieve this by making savvy acquisitions from the market row and completing commoner, merchant, and royal commissions. The game is designed by Randy Flynn and can be played by 2 to 5 players, making it a great option for small to medium-sized groups. With a playtime of 30 to 45 minutes, you can easily fit in a game or two in one sitting. The heart of the game is the commission grid, an irregularly shaped series of resource requirement cards that form commissions in columns and rows. You'll complete a commission by dedicating the necessary resources for an entire column or row, removing those requirements from the grid and changing all other commissions at the same time. The longer the commission, the better the rewards, including more coins and higher prestige. For example, completing a 5-card royal commission will earn you more prestige and a permanent ability that contributes to your game engine. On your turn, you'll take two actions, such as buying a material card from the market row, trading a material card, or purging the market row. If you have the necessary materials, you can complete a commission on the grid, claiming the commission card and changing the grid for future turns. As you navigate the game, you'll need to balance your hand management, market manipulation, and pattern building skills to earn the most prestige.
