Description

Carcassonne: The Flying Machines is a thrilling expansion to the classic Carcassonne series, designed by the renowned Klaus-Jürgen Wrede. Released in 2012, this small but exciting addition brings a new level of strategy and fun to the game, suitable for 2 to 6 players. The rules are easy to learn, making it accessible to new players, while the gameplay itself is engaging and challenging. With the introduction of eight special landscape tiles featuring a pair of wings, players can now attempt to fly their followers to nearby tiles, adding a fresh layer of excitement to the traditional tile placement and area majority mechanics. When a player draws one of these winged tiles, they have the option to place a follower as usual or take to the skies, with the direction and distance determined by the wings' orientation and a die roll. If successful, the follower can land on any unfinished, non-field location, even if it's already occupied. However, if the flight ends in a crash, the player's turn is over. This expansion seamlessly integrates with the base game, including Carcassonne Big Box and other versions, and is a great way to breathe new life into the classic game. With its unique blend of medieval territory building and aviation-themed gameplay, Carcassonne: The Flying Machines is sure to delight both new and experienced players alike.
