Description
In Le Torri di San Gimignano, you and your opponent take on the roles of noble families in medieval Tuscany, competing to build the most impressive towers in the city. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, this 20 to 30 minute game for 2 players is easy to dive into, but still offers plenty of depth and strategy. You'll start with a hand of cards and a face-up market, drawing and swapping cards to build towers that are either plain, with cards of the same value, or colorful, with cards in a rising sequence. As you build, you'll earn bonus effects and donations based on the rank of your towers, and you can even complete towers to score extra points at the end of the game. The goal is to outdo your opponent, scoring points for the highest tower, for plain towers that surpass your opponent's, and for your colorful towers. With its unique blend of hand management, card drafting, and set collection mechanics, Le Torri di San Gimignano offers a fun and challenging experience. Designed by Kazuma Suzuki and published in 2020, this game is a great choice for anyone looking for a quick but engaging city-building card game, and with its advanced noble cards, it offers even more replayability and excitement.
