Description

Marrakesh is a unique and intriguing board game that combines elements of backgammon and cardplay in a way that's both easy to learn and fun to play. Designed by Joli Quentin Kansil in 1978, this game is perfect for two players looking for a challenging yet accessible experience. With a playtime of just 45 minutes, you can quickly get started and enjoy a thrilling competition with a friend. The game begins with each player setting up their six pieces on the board based on the roll of six dice, adding an element of chance to the game. As you play, you'll be dealt a hand of six cards from a special deck, which you'll use to try and collect two card tricks and bear off your pieces. The goal is to earn points by bearing off pieces in strategic combinations, such as removing two pieces on each of three turns or achieving the ultimate goal of Marrakesh, where all six pieces are borne off in a single turn. But be careful - your opponent can also earn defensive points by keeping you from removing many pieces from their board. With its simple rules and simultaneous action selection, Marrakesh is a game that's easy to pick up but hard to put down, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a fun and engaging abstract strategy game.
