Description

Quartermaster General: Prelude is a thrilling expansion that sets the stage for World War II, adding a new layer of strategy to the original game. Designed by Ian Brody, this 2018 release is perfect for 2 to 6 players looking for a quick yet intense experience, with playtime lasting around 10 minutes. The game rules are of normal complexity, making it easy for board game enthusiasts to pick up and learn. As an expansion for the base games Quartermaster General and Quartermaster General WW2: 2nd Edition, Prelude introduces new "Prelude" cards that create a unique pre-game sequence, leading to diverse opening situations. The Prelude cards come in two types: History and Armament. History cards are resolved immediately, adding a tension modifier that raises the stakes, while Armament cards are played face down, allowing players to respond to their opponents' moves at a cost. As the total tension from History cards reaches 10, the regular game begins, and players must adapt to the new situation. With its Area Majority / Influence and Campaign / Battle Card Driven mechanics, Quartermaster General: Prelude offers a fresh and exciting take on the World War II theme, making it a must-have for fans of wargames and strategy.
