Description

Thebes is a game of competitive archeology where 2 to 4 players take on the role of archaeologists traveling through Europe, northern Africa, and the Middle East to uncover knowledge about five ancient civilizations. With easy-to-learn rules, players must acquire knowledge and use it to excavate historical sites, all while managing their time effectively over a period of two to three years. Each action takes a certain amount of time, and players must balance their progress with the time it takes to complete tasks. As players excavate sites, they'll draw artifact tiles from a bag that also contains dirt, adding an element of uncertainty to the game. The player who learns the most about the civilizations, claims the greatest-valued artifacts, and collects the most exhibitions will win out over their colleagues. With its unique time-tracking mechanism and exciting excavation process, Thebes is a thrilling game of strategy and discovery that's perfect for players looking for a fun and challenging experience.
