Description
Land Without End: The Barbarossa Campaign, 1941 is a strategic-level simulation of the German attempt to conquer the Soviet Union in 1941, designed for two players. The game drops you into the midst of World War II, with the German player on the offensive, trying to rapidly seize key cities, and the Soviet player primarily on the defensive, but also looking for opportunities to launch counterattacks. The game spans the period from June 22 to December 7, 1941, and the German player must advance quickly to cause the collapse of the Soviet Union before the historic termination time. As you play, you'll maneuver divisions, corps, and armies across a hexagon grid map, with each hex representing about 20 miles. The game incorporates the effects of German air superiority and features unique rules for supply, the capture of Moscow, and the Stalin line. With a normal level of complexity, fans of board games will have no trouble learning the rules, and the game's mechanics, including dice rolling and a combat results table, will keep you engaged. Designed by Ty Bomba and published in 2007, Land Without End: The Barbarossa Campaign, 1941 offers a thrilling and challenging experience for anyone interested in wargames and World War II history.
