Description
Empire of the Sun is a strategic level game that takes a comprehensive look at the War in the Pacific, from the attack on Pearl Harbor to the surrender of Japan. Players take on the roles of famous commanders, directing forces across the globe from India to Hawaii and from Alaska to Australia. The game uses a card driven system, where players try to maximize the impact of their cards while hiding their intentions from their opponent. The game features a two-tiered combat system, with air-naval combat preceding ground combat, and a unique system for resolving battles. The Japanese must achieve their historical expansion while the Allies battle to react and inflict maximum damage on the Japanese veteran units. The game is designed for 1 to 2 players and can take around 360 minutes to play, with a complexity level that may take some time to learn, but offers a challenging and exciting experience for fans of wargames and World War II history.
