Description

Schwarzes Gold is a short and sweet tactical game that drops you into the wild west of the first oil rush in Texas, where the year is 1901 and the smell of black gold is in the air. You and up to three other players are all vying to strike it rich by setting up your oil rigs in the most lucrative spots on Spindletop Hill, the birthplace of the modern oil industry. The rules are easy to learn, making it simple for anyone to jump in and start playing, and with a playtime of just 25 minutes, you can get in and out of a game quickly. As you roll the dice to determine where you can place your drilling rigs or neutral oil markers, you'll need to think strategically about how to maximize your points. The game is all about area majority and influence, with a dash of dice rolling and network building thrown in to keep things exciting. With multiple variants and fan rules available, including a second game board, you can mix things up and add more complexity to the game as you get more comfortable with the basics. Designed by Bernhard Weber and first published in 2009, Schwarzes Gold has already proven itself to be a winner, taking top honors in the author's game competition in 2008/2009, and is sure to provide hours of fun for you and your friends.
