Description

Federation & Empire is a sprawling science fiction board game set in the Star Fleet Universe, where 2 to 8 players can command one or more races in a variety of scenarios, replaying the historical situations in the galactic politics of the future. This game is a strategic masterpiece, with a complex set of rules that might take some time to learn, but the payoff is well worth the effort. With a playtime of 300 minutes, players will be fully immersed in the game's world, navigating a hexagon grid and using movement points to outmaneuver their opponents. As a base game, Federation & Empire is a standalone experience that doesn't require any prior knowledge of the Star Fleet Universe, although it is closely related to the game Star Fleet Battles. In fact, Star Fleet Battles can be used to resolve tactical battles in Federation & Empire, adding an extra layer of depth to the game. First published in 1986 by Task Force Games, Federation & Empire has undergone several revisions over the years, with new expansions and updates adding to the game's richness and complexity. With its unique blend of dice rolling, grid movement, and simulation mechanics, Federation & Empire is a game that will appeal to fans of science fiction and wargames alike, offering a challenging and engaging experience that will keep players coming back for more.
