Description

Luftschiff is a thrilling board game that puts you in the cockpit of a German Zeppelin during World War I. This solo or two-player game plays out like a sophisticated side-scrolling arcade game, where you navigate your Zeppelin through the war-torn skies of Europe or Africa. The game board shows a side view of the airspace, with your Zeppelin remaining in a central column, shifting up or down as you gain and lose altitude. As you move forward, the board comes alive with enemy units, weather conditions, and obstacles, represented by 30 randomly dealt Situation Cards. With five different Zeppelin models to choose from, you'll need to manage your craft's condition and crew using a separate ballast sheet. The game takes about 60 minutes to play, and the rules are of normal complexity, making it easy for board game enthusiasts to learn. You'll play through ten scenarios, plus a campaign game, and can even try out variant rules for two players. The game's components are of high quality, and with the option to expand with new sets, such as Airships at War 1914-1941, you can take your Zeppelin adventures to new heights.
