Description
Contigo is a classic abstract strategy game that's easy to learn but challenging to master. Designed by Frank Thibault and first published in 1974, it's a game that's stood the test of time. In Contigo, 2 to 4 players compete to outmaneuver each other on a 6x6 board, using a unique combination of pattern building and recognition to control the movement of their pawns. The game is played with a set of pebbles that are moved around the board's perimeter, and the number of pebbles in a row, column, or diagonal determines how the pawns can be moved. The game comes with two sets of rules, offering players a choice of gameplay experiences. The Alignment game is a great introduction to the game, where players aim to be the first to get four of their pawns in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, without any opposing pawns getting in the way. The more advanced Capture game adds an extra layer of complexity, where players must capture their opponents' key pawns to win. With a playtime of just 45 minutes, Contigo is a great game for a quick evening session with friends or family, and its simple rules make it accessible to players of all ages and skill levels.
