Description

In What Were You Thinking?, the goal is to come up with the same answer as everyone else, whether it's correct or not. This party game, designed by Richard Garfield and first published in 1998, is all about guessing what others will think. Players take turns asking questions from the question cards, and everyone writes down their answers. The twist is that you're not trying to be right, you're trying to be like everyone else. If your answer matches the majority, you're "right", but if you're the only one with a particular answer, you'll move up the penalty track. The game is simple to learn and can be explained quickly, making it easy to jump into a 30-minute game with a group of 4 to 10 friends. As a single loser game, the objective is to avoid being the one who gets to the top of the penalty track, because when that happens, everyone else wins. With its voting mechanics and party game category, What Were You Thinking? is a fun and engaging game that's all about reading the minds of those around you. It's a great way to spend time with friends, laughing and trying to figure out what they're thinking, and it's no surprise that it's remained a popular choice since its release over two decades ago.
