Description

Fences is a fun and easy-to-learn tile-laying game where you play as a farmer trying to build pens for your animals. With simple rules, 2 to 4 players can enjoy this game together, competing to collect as many animals as possible within a short 40-minute playtime. The goal is to enclose fields with cows, meadows with sheep, and mud holes with pigs, earning points for each animal you successfully fence in. The twist is that if you manage to fence in only one type of animal in a pen, you score double points, making strategic tile placement crucial to your success. As you take turns placing tiles and claiming fields, you'll need to balance your efforts to collect animals with the need to disrupt your opponents' plans. By throwing other animals into their perfectly fenced fields, you can deny them the bonus points they're aiming for. But be careful not to overextend yourself, as maintaining too many fields can be costly. With its engaging gameplay and straightforward rules, Fences is a great choice for a quick and entertaining game night, and its print-and-play design makes it easy to get started. Published in 2018 by designers Andrew Sallwasser, Adam F. Collins, and Tim Forbis, Fences is a base game with an available expansion, Fences: Seasons, offering even more opportunities for fun and challenge.
