Description
The Middle Ages is a card game where 3 to 4 players take on the role of rival rulers in Europe during the medieval period. The goal is to expand your holdings while navigating the challenges of unrest and plague. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, this 45 to 60 minute game is easy to dive into. Designed by John Clowdus and published in 2022, The Middle Ages combines hand management, worker placement, and multi-use cards to create a engaging experience. Players must strategically add cards to their own or another player's Coterie, which can bring benefits or drawbacks. As the game progresses, players return cards from their Coterie to earn actions, which can be used to build Structures and accumulate wealth. The game ends after the deck runs out for the second time, and the player with the most points from their Accord Icons, Wealth, and Structures is declared the winner.
