Description

Runebound: Midnight is an epic expansion that brings the award-winning Midnight setting to the world of Runebound, merging the exciting gameplay with a dark and immersive fantasy world. In this cooperative game, 2 to 6 players take on the roles of heroes who must band together to stop the rise to power of one of the Night Kings of the dark god Izrador. But here's the twist - the Night King is not just a game mechanic, it's another player, actively working to thwart the heroes' efforts. This adds a whole new level of player interaction to the game, making it a truly unique and thrilling experience. As the heroes, you'll need to infiltrate the Night King's strongholds, destroy his black mirrors, and navigate the challenges of the dark world of Eredane. But be warned, the Night King will stop at nothing to crush your efforts, sending Challenges to hunt you down and manipulating environmental effects to hinder your progress. And if you're not careful, the threat level will rise, unleashing the Night King's full fury upon the world. With a playtime of 120 minutes, this game is a significant investment, but the experience is well worth it. The normal complexity of the game rules makes it easy for fans of board games to pick up, but the depth and strategy required to win will keep you engaged and challenged. This expansion replaces some elements of the original Runebound game, including the map and playable characters, providing a fresh and different gaming experience. With its rich fantasy setting and intense cooperative gameplay, Runebound: Midnight is a must-play for fans of the series and the Midnight RPG Mythos. Just remember, you'll need to own the Runebound basic game to play this expansion, but trust us, it's worth it. Designed by Robert Vaughn and published in 2006, this expansion has stood the test of time, offering a unique and captivating experience that will keep you coming back for more.
