Description
Valhal is a board game where you take on the role of a Jarl, leading your own Viking settlement on the island of Fjörnheim. Your goal is to regain the favor of the gods by raiding towns and villages, gathering resources, and constructing new buildings and ships. The game starts with summer raids, where you attack villages with your Nordic warriors, using a battle system that combines fixed stats with dice rolling. As you progress through the seasons, you'll draw event cards that bring joy, pain, or something in between, each with its own story inspired by Norse mythology. You'll also interact with the northern gods, who will grant you benevolence or wrath based on your actions. The game ends when one player collects 7 favor of the gods points, reaching the Golden Gates of Valhal. With its unique blend of dice rolling, modular board, and storytelling, Valhal is a thrilling game for 2 to 4 players that will keep you engaged for 90 to 120 minutes.
