Description

War of the Worlds is a thrilling game of conquest and survival, where one player takes on the role of the diabolical Martian forces, and the other plays as the military forces of Queen Victoria, fighting to repel the alien attack. The Martians have a formidable array of weapons at their disposal, including huge mechanical tripod walkers, flying saucers, death rays, and giant monsters, as well as the ability to recruit sympathetic human proxies to aid in their conquest. Meanwhile, the human player must rely on conventional infantry, cavalry, and artillery, and possibly a hero, to defend against the Martian onslaught. As the game unfolds, the human player must navigate the challenges of determining the Martian overlord's true objectives, as the Martians have five different victory conditions to choose from. With easy-to-learn rules and a playtime of just 60 minutes, War of the Worlds is an accessible and engaging game for 1 to 2 players. Designed by William L. Banks and Michael Anderson, and first published in 2014, this game is a must-play for fans of science fiction and wargames, and is sure to provide hours of entertainment as players battle for control of Earth.
