Description
Arcanor is a clever and strategic board game designed by Michaël Aguilar, first published in 1994. This abstract strategy game is played on a square grid, where two players compete against each other, each with 12 cylinders of varying sizes and values. The goal is simple: be the first to accumulate 12 value points on your side of the board. However, achieving this goal requires a combination of tactical thinking and memory, as players must remember which cylinders are hidden underneath others. As players take turns, they can choose to "eat" an opponent's cylinder that is one size smaller, free trapped cylinders by moving a top-friendly cylinder, or simply move a cylinder or group of cylinders to an adjacent square. The cylinders can be stacked like Russian dolls, adding an extra layer of complexity to the game. With its simple rules and short playtime of 30 minutes, Arcanor is an accessible and engaging game that challenges players to balance strategy and memory. As a winner of the 1994 Concours International de Créateurs de Jeux de Société, Arcanor has proven itself to be a compelling and rewarding game that will keep you coming back for more.
