Description
Storm over Arnhem is a classic wargame that drops you into the intense battle for the Arnhem Bridge during World War II. Published in 1981, this game was designed by Courtney F. Allen and is considered one of the pioneering Area-Impulse games. As a two-player game, you'll take on the role of either the British or the Germans, with the British trying to hold out for as long as possible against the surrounding German forces. The game is played out over a series of turns, each covering 8 hours of real-time and divided into smaller impulses. During each impulse, you can move or fire a small number of units, adding a layer of strategy and tactical decision-making to the game. With a playtime of around 300 minutes, Storm over Arnhem is a game that requires commitment, but its normal complexity level makes it accessible to those familiar with board games.
