Description
Longships is a Viking-themed game where 2 to 6 players take to the North Sea, each starting with an empty longship. To get ahead, you'll need to plunder at least one of the surrounding countries - Denmark, Norway, Scotland, or England - to get some initial resources to trade with. As you navigate the seas, you'll discover that each country produces a unique combination of resources, making long-distance trading more profitable, but also more dangerous due to changing weather conditions. The key to success lies in finding the right balance between plundering and trading, as weakening a country's defenses also hurts its trading potential. You can use resources to build new longships, increasing your power, or sacrifice them to the gods to gain extra actions, such as summoning new warriors or changing the weather. With its unique blend of trading, fighting, and strategy, Longships is a thrilling game that will keep you on the edge of your seat for 60 minutes.
