Description
1989: Dawn of Freedom is a game that simulates the end of the Cold War in 1989, a year that saw a series of democratic revolutions bring an end to the 40 year Soviet empire in Eastern Europe. Players take on the roles of the Communist and the Democrat, each with their own unique challenges and strategies. The Communist player must use a variety of tactics to hold on to power, from crushing dissent to offering concessions, while the Democrat player must persuade the workers to join their cause and create a civil society outside the control of the Communist regimes. As the game unfolds, players will experience the political, social, and economic aspects of these revolutions, using a card-driven system to navigate the complex web of events and challenges. With its normal complexity and engaging gameplay, 1989: Dawn of Freedom is a game that will appeal to fans of modern warfare, political, and wargames, and provides a unique and exciting experience for two players over the course of 150 minutes.
