Description

Wings Over France is a thrilling solitaire board game that drops you into the midst of World War I, where you'll take control of a RFC Squadron based in Arras, France, during the infamous "Bloody April" of 1917. As the player, you'll be tasked with sweeping the skies clear of enemy aircraft in support of the Arras ground offensive, but simply surviving the ordeal will be a notable achievement. With a playtime of around 60 minutes, this game is designed for solo players and features a normal level of complexity, making it accessible to those familiar with board games. The game is full of action and excitement, with a variety of missions to undertake each day, from reconnaissance and bombing raids to destroying enemy balloons. But beware, as each mission will inevitably lead to intense dogfights with enemy aircraft, with the potential for over 20 planes to be battling it out in the skies at the same time. With limited resources and personnel at your disposal, you'll need to strategically manage your squadron to achieve success. Designed by Terry Goodchild and first published in 1992, Wings Over France is a classic wargame that combines elements of aviation, strategy, and survival, making for a truly immersive and challenging experience.
