Description
Grog Island is a game where pirates trade in their plundering ways for a life of investing in rock-solid businesses. With 2 to 4 players, you'll spend 40 to 75 minutes navigating the five peninsulas of the island, bidding on buildings like peg-leg shops and the infamous Grog Hole pub. The game's unique auction mechanism uses five colored dice to create and raise bids, making for tactical and interesting gameplay. As you bid and pass, you'll collect goods like grog bottles and treasure maps, and visit merchant ships to trade them for money, parrots, or treasure chests. Finding the right balance between bidding and backing out is key to winning. The game ends when one player claims a certain number of buildings, and then you'll score your secret goal cards, which may give points for majorities on peninsulas or collecting certain goods. With easy-to-learn rules, Grog Island is a fun and engaging game for anyone looking for a pirate-themed adventure.
