Description

Massilia is a game of strategic trading and reputation building, set in the ancient Roman Empire. Players take on the role of merchants competing to install their stalls in the city's bustling market, where the goal is to attract wealthy customers and increase their reputation. With a playtime of 60 to 120 minutes, 2 to 4 players can engage in this economic game, using action points, dice rolling, and tile placement to outmaneuver their opponents. As players roll colored dice to perform actions, they must balance buying goods, moving clients and the consul, making offerings to gods, and buying reputation. The game's normal complexity makes it accessible to those familiar with board games, and its engaging mechanics ensure a fun and challenging experience. Designed by Alain Epron and published in 2014, Massilia offers a unique blend of strategy and luck, where players must navigate the demands of the market and the whims of the gods to emerge victorious.
