Description
In Broadhorns: Early Trade on the Mississippi, you'll take on the role of a merchant in St. Louis, financing cargo expeditions down the Mississippi River during the early 19th century. The game is played over a year, with each season bringing its own challenges. You'll need to obtain a boat, purchase cargo, and navigate the river to earn the highest returns. With perishable goods like apples, flour, and pork, time is of the essence, and you'll have to balance speed with cargo capacity. As you progress, you'll earn more gold, allowing you to upgrade to larger or faster boats, and choose from a variety of cargo types, including fur and whiskey. You can also pick up travelers and transport them to their destinations for extra gold. With 2 to 4 players and a playtime of 60 to 90 minutes, Broadhorns offers a fun and challenging economic experience that's easy to learn, even for those familiar with board games.
