Description
Fujiyama is a quick and simple game where 2 to 5 players work together to build the iconic Japanese mountain, but with a competitive twist. Over 20 to 30 minutes, players take turns placing tiles to create a beautiful and thriving ecosystem, complete with wildlife. The game is divided into 9 rounds, and each round, players receive two tiles from their neighbors, which they must then use to decide what to place and what to pass on. This semi-cooperative mechanic adds a fun social element to the game, as players must balance their own goals with the need to help their neighbors. As players build Fujiyama, they're collecting sets of tiles that match the different seasons, which will earn them points at the end of the game. But there's an added layer of strategy, as players can also earn wildlife tokens by giving their neighbors tiles that they end up using. This means that players must think carefully about what tiles to give away, and to whom, in order to maximize their own chances of winning. With its simple rules and deep strategy, Fujiyama is a great game for fans of abstract strategy and set collection, and its short playtime makes it easy to fit in a game or two. Designed by nanatsumu and published in 2021, Fujiyama is a fun and engaging game that's perfect for playing with friends and family.
