Description

The Great Races is a classic board game that's all about speed and strategy, designed by the legendary Sid Sackson and first published in 1974. In this easy-to-learn game, 2 to 4 players take turns rolling four dice and pairing them up to score points. The game is played on a dedicated scoring sheet, where each line represents a separate race to accumulate multiple rolls for each value between 2 and 12. Players mark the scoresheet to record their progress, and the first to complete all race segments for a particular value wins that individual race. The game is a thrilling competition that's over in just 30 minutes, making it a great option for a quick game night with friends. With its simple yet engaging gameplay, The Great Races is a great example of Sackson's innovative design style. While it shares some similarities with another Sackson game, Can't Stop, it has its own unique twists, such as the individual point values assigned to each race and the goal of winning the game with the highest tally after all races are completed. Whether you're a fan of dice games, racing games, or just looking for a fun and easy-to-learn game, The Great Races is definitely worth checking out.
