Description
Santa Maria is a medium complexity Eurogame where you establish and develop a colony, using a combination of strategic planning and clever resource management. With no direct destructive player conflict, you can focus on building and expanding your colony, placing polyominoes with buildings on your board and using dice to activate them. The order in which you place buildings and use dice is crucial, making each game a fun and challenging puzzle to solve. As you progress, you'll produce resources, form shipping routes, and improve your religious power to recruit monks, who can provide special abilities, bonuses, or end game points. With varying specialists, bonuses, and buildings each game, Santa Maria offers near endless replayability. Playable by 1 to 4 players in 45 to 90 minutes, it's a great option for those familiar with board games, with rules of normal complexity and no necessary in-game text.
