Description
In High Frontier, 2 to 5 players take on the role of Earth governments racing to establish a presence in space, extracting resources and colonizing other planets, moons, and asteroids in our solar system. The game is set in a future where nanofacturing techniques allow for the creation of incredible new materials, but only in the zero-gravity and high-vacuum conditions of space. Players must accumulate water in orbiting fuel depots to be used as rocket propellant and develop remote-controlled robonauts to do the grunt work. Players use water in low Earth orbit as currency to bid on space-related patents, balancing the need for functional parts with the weight and maneuverability of their craft. Victory points are awarded for successful mineral extractions and for being the first to reach key technologies and exploration points in the solar system. With its complex rules and multiple mechanics, High Frontier is a challenging and engaging game that requires strategic thinking and planning, making it a great choice for fans of science fiction and space exploration.
