In the game, each player card features one of five different players, and shows who they'll pass the ball to next. For example, if you play a card with Otto, the next player needs to play a card with Luigi, or use a special card to get out of the situation. If they can't play, you get a chance to score a goal by drawing the top card from the action deck.
