Description
The Settlers of Catan: The Fishermen of Catan is an exciting expansion that adds a fresh twist to the classic game. Designed by Klaus Teuber and first introduced in 2005, this expansion is easy to learn and can be enjoyed by 3 to 4 players in about 60 minutes. The game mechanics of dice rolling, modular board, and trading are still present, but now players can also experience the thrill of fishing. Certain sea tiles are transformed into Fishing Grounds, which produce resources in the form of Fish Tiles, each worth one, two, or three fish. These fish can be used to gain special benefits, such as moving the robber, stealing resources from other players, or building streets immediately. But beware, players can also catch an old shoe, which comes with a penalty - they'll need one more point to win the game than usual. The only way to get rid of the old shoe is to pass it on to another player with the same or more points. This expansion adds a new layer of strategy and negotiation to the game, as players must carefully decide when to use their fish and how to navigate the challenges of the Fishing Grounds. With its unique blend of economic management and social interaction, The Settlers of Catan: The Fishermen of Catan is a must-try for fans of the original game.
