Description
The world as you knew it is gone, and in its place, a new order is rising from the ashes. The United States has collapsed, and thirty years after the war began, four new powers are vying for control of the ruined country. In 51st State, you'll take on the role of one of these powers - mutants, traders, New Yorkers, or Appalachians - and compete to build your own new country. With a unique blend of card drafting, hand management, and variable player powers, this game offers a complex and engaging experience that's easy to learn for anyone familiar with board games. As you play, you'll put new locations into the game, hire leaders, and send people to work in buildings to gain resources and new skills. The real twist, though, is that every card in the game can be used in three different ways. You can invade a location to gain a bunch of resources all at once, sign a contract to get a steady stream of resources every turn, or attach the location to your State to unlock its special skill. This means you'll have to make tough decisions about how to use each card, and your choices will have a big impact on the game. With two to four players and a playtime of 40 to 90 minutes, 51st State is a great choice for a game night with friends. Designed by Ignacy Trzewiczek and published in 2010, 51st State has become a classic of the science fiction and city-building genres. With its unique mechanics and engaging gameplay, it's no wonder this game has stood the test of time. And don't worry if you're not a native English speaker - there's no necessary in-game text, so everyone can join in on the fun. Whether you're a seasoned gamer or just looking for a new challenge, 51st State is a great choice. So gather your friends, choose your power, and start building your new country - the 51st State awaits.
