Description
In Light Seeker, a game of abstract strategy for two players, the goal is to increase the amount of light in the world and bring it together to win. Designed by Daniel Danzer and Julian Danzer, this 2024 release is easy to learn and can be played in a short amount of time, typically between 5 to 15 minutes. The game starts with a 3x3 grid of cubes, each with different light configurations, and a blocking token that restricts movement. Players take turns performing two actions, either sliding or tilting cubes into adjacent open spaces, while ensuring the total amount of light on top of the cubes increases. As players navigate the grid, they create and manipulate "light areas" by placing cubes with adjacent half or full bright faces. The game requires strategic thinking and spatial reasoning, as the light areas shift and change over time. With its unique blend of grid movement, pattern building, and three-dimensional movement, Light Seeker offers a challenging and engaging experience. The variable setup and simple rules make it accessible to new players, while the depth of strategy keeps experienced players coming back for more. The first player to create a light area with at least 7 light wins the game, making Light Seeker a thrilling and competitive experience for two players.
