Description

In the year 2024, game designer Andrey Kolupaev brings us Frozen Frontier, a strategic Eurogame that's perfect for experienced players who are ready to explore the cosmic future of humanity. The game is set in the 22nd century where Earth's population has reached 14 billion and resources are scarce, leaving mankind desperate for a new home. The United Civilizations have launched the Argo expedition to the planet Janus, a two-faced world with harsh conditions, in search of vital resources. Players take on the role of corporations that are trying to establish a new home on this frozen frontier. As players navigate the game, they'll have the opportunity to move their Carrier to any city, collect project cards, and take one of three possible actions: construct buildings, collaborate with other players to receive resources and effects, or raise funds using subsidy cards. Each turn, players will need to manage their resources carefully and make strategic decisions about which actions to take. The game mechanics are complex and might take some time to learn, but the payoff is worth it. With features like area majority, hand management, and worker placement, Frozen Frontier offers a rich and immersive experience for players. The game can be played with 1 to 4 players and typically lasts between 120 to 180 minutes, making it a great choice for a game night with friends or a solo adventure. As the game comes to a close, players will count up their victory points, earned from controlling cities, settling colonists, fulfilling shipment contracts, and completing card effects. The player with the most points will be declared the winner, having successfully established a thriving presence on the frozen frontier. With its unique blend of city building, economic management, and space exploration, Frozen Frontier is a must-play for fans of science fiction and strategic gameplay. Whether you're playing alone or with friends, this game is sure to challenge and engage you, offering a thrilling experience that will keep you coming back for more.
