Description

Kanagawa: Yokai is an exciting expansion to the base game Kanagawa, designed by Bruno Cathala and Charles Chevallier, and published in 2019. This expansion is easy to learn and can be enjoyed by 2 to 4 players in just 45 minutes. It introduces new elements to the game, including cards and scoring elements for kites, parasols, and paper lanterns, which can be used in place of two elements from the base game. These new elements bring a fresh layer of strategy and fun to the game, as players must manage their hands, draft cards, and build patterns to succeed. The expansion also features cards with a yokaï symbol, which can be placed in a player's painting or studio, allowing them to take a yokaï marker from the reserve or another player. Collecting all three markers comes with a reward, but beware - players who hold onto these markers at the end of the game will lose points. This adds a push your luck element to the game, as players must balance the risk of losing points with the potential reward of collecting the markers. With its simple rules and engaging gameplay, Kanagawa: Yokai is a great addition to the base game, offering a new and exciting experience for fans of card games and worker placement mechanics.
