Description
In Carcassonne: The Land Surveyors, the medieval landscape is about to get a whole lot more interesting. This expansion, designed by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede, introduces a new layer of strategy to the classic game, as surveyors roam the countryside changing the value of roads, cities, and monasteries when they're scored. With a playtime of just 30 to 45 minutes, it's easy to fit in a game with friends, whether you're a seasoned player or new to the world of Carcassonne. The rules are easy to learn, making it accessible to players of all levels, and with support for 2 to 5 players, it's a great addition to game nights. As you play, you'll create a stack of surveyor tiles for each landscape feature, with one tile active and one waiting in the wings. When a feature scores points, you'll resolve the scoring based on the active tiles, then swap them out for the next in line. Some tiles will give you bonuses, while others will penalize you, so timing is everything. With careful planning, you can use the surveyors to your advantage, maximizing your points and outmaneuvering your opponents. First released as a print-and-play in 2020, Carcassonne: The Land Surveyors is a must-have expansion for fans of the base game, offering a fresh twist on the classic tile placement mechanics.
