Description

Banzuke Shoushin is a sumo wrestling career simulation game where you get to rise through the ranks of sumo, managing the entire career of a rikishi, or sumo wrestler. The game doesn't focus on individual bouts, but rather on the whole career, with hundreds of fights simulated throughout. You'll control a small number of rikishi, while the others are automated, controlled by the game itself. This game is designed for a small number of players, from one to three, making it a great option for solo play or playing with a couple of friends. In the game, you'll guide your rikishi through a year of training and tournaments, known as basho. During training, your rikishi will improve their skills in areas like endurance, strength, and technique, while their stable masters try to boost their spirits. Then, it's time for the tournament, where every bout is decided by a combination of match tactics and dice rolling. You'll try to influence the match tactic to play to your rikishi's strengths or your opponent's weaknesses. With each game year taking around 45 to 60 minutes to play, simulating a 10-year sumo career can take up to 10 hours, but the game is easy to store and play in multiple sessions over time.
