Description

Schatten der Macht, which translates to "Shadows of Power", is a strategic board game set in the Dark Eye universe, where 2 to 4 players take on the role of a clandestine organisation vying for control of the continent of Aventuria. The game is all about gaining influence in various locations, recruiting heroic adventurers, and commanding ships to outmaneuver your opponents. As you cleverly develop your influence over churches, magical societies, and great lords, you'll be better positioned to assist your adventurers in battles against competitors and monsters, and even convince legendary heroes to join your cause. The gameplay revolves around building a deck of cards, each representing regions or powerful characters, and using them to recruit and move adventurers, influence organisations, and command ships. The key to success lies in combining actions to make them more powerful, while also keeping an eye on the remaining duration of the round, which can be dictated by any player. At the end of each round, conflicts over regional control are resolved using an elegant majority system, allowing for unexpected twists and turns. With its innovative scoring mechanism and beautiful illustrations of Dark Eye characters, organisations, and regions, Schatten der Macht offers a thrilling experience that's easy to learn, even for those familiar with board games, and plays out over 60 to 180 minutes.
