Description

In Carolus Magnus, 2 to 4 players compete to build towers and gain control of medieval territories. The game is played on a modular board, made up of small hexagon clusters arranged in a circle. Players use small wooden blocks to represent mercenaries, which are placed on the land pieces to attempt to gain control or help the player who controls that color. As players gain majority control of a land piece, they can build a tower, serving as a semi-permanent control marker and a way to win. The game ends when a player builds a set number of towers or when the land masses are reduced to three or fewer, with the player having the most towers winning. With its unique blend of area majority, dice rolling, and hand management, Carolus Magnus offers a fun and challenging experience for fans of abstract strategy and medieval-themed games.
