Description

In Chemical Overload, you're an apprentice alchemist vying for the top spot as the new Master Alchemist, a title that's within reach after years of grueling training at the Academy of Alchemy. The final exam is looming, and it's going to be a wild ride - you'll need to brew the most potent potions to accrue those coveted Alchemy Points before the lab fills up with toxic fumes and the exam comes to a screeching halt. You'll start with basic chemicals and flasks, combining them to create magical potions that can earn you gold, Alchemy Points, and more powerful chemicals, but beware - some potions will also release toxic fumes, bringing the exam to a close sooner rather than later. As you play, you'll build your deck and tableau, strategically playing flask cards and potions to gain ongoing effects and advantages. With each new card gained, you'll add it to your draw pile, and decide which unused cards to keep and discard at the end of each round, all while keeping a watchful eye on the toxic fume track. Designed by Michael Crandall and Katie Crandall, Chemical Overload is a deck, bag, and pool building game that's easy to learn and plays in 45 to 75 minutes with 1 to 4 players.
