Description
TOBITO is a simple yet strategic game for 2 to 4 players, designed by Mitsuo Yamamoto and published in 2020. The goal is easy to understand: move your three pieces to the opposite side of the board before your opponents do. However, it's not as easy as it sounds, as players can jump over each other's pieces and relocate them, blocking progress and adding a layer of complexity to the game. Players take turns moving one piece at a time, either to an adjacent empty space or by jumping over other pieces. Once a piece reaches its goal, it's flipped over and becomes immobile, safe from being jumped over or relocated. The game ends when one player moves all their pieces to the opposite side or is the last player remaining, making TOBITO a fun and challenging abstract strategy game that's quick to learn but tricky to master.
