Description
Jenseits von Theben is a game of competitive archeology where 2 to 4 players take on the role of archaeologists traveling around Europe to uncover knowledge about five ancient civilizations. The goal is to learn as much as possible about these civilizations and use that knowledge to excavate historical sites, collecting valuable artifacts along the way. As players navigate the game, they'll need to balance their time wisely, as every action takes a certain amount of time, from traveling between cities to gathering knowledge and digging at cultural sites. The game's unique time track mechanic keeps players on their toes, as each action moves their token forward in time, allowing other players to take multiple actions while they wait. With a playtime of 75 minutes, Jenseits von Theben is an engaging and challenging game that's easy to learn but full of depth. Designed by Peter Prinz and first published in 2004, this game is perfect for those who love exploration and travel. As players compete to present the best collection of artifacts at European exhibitions, they'll need to overcome the random chance element of hidden artifact cards and recycled "dirt" cards, making for a thrilling experience that's different every time.
