Deduction
Description
In Rays of Light, you're pitted against an opponent in a game of deduction and strategic thinking. The setup is simple: each player has a hidden grid, where they place colored chips and mirrors, much like in classic games like Battleship. But here's the twist - you're not trying to sink ships, you're trying to uncover the secrets of your opponent's grid by shooting imaginary light rays into it. Your opponent will give you clues about where the light exits and what color it is, and it's up to you to use that information to recreate their grid before they can do the same to you. This 45-minute game for two players is all about using your wits to outmaneuver your opponent. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, you'll be up and running in no time, trying to outdeduce each other in a battle of minds. Designed by Ehud Fridgut and first published in 1979, Rays of Light is a unique combination of strategy and guessing, similar to a mix of Battleship and Black Box. As you play, you'll need to think carefully about the clues you're given and use them to piece together the puzzle of your opponent's grid. It's a fun and challenging game that's sure to keep you on your toes.
