LOOP is a quick and exciting card game designed by Takashi Saito, released in 2023, that's all about trying to one-up your friends. In a game of LOOP, 2 to 4 players compete to get rid of all their cards first, with each round lasting around 15 minutes. The game starts with each player receiving a hand of eleven cards from a deck of three suits, numbered 1-15. They then choose two cards to set aside face down, which can be used to throw a wrench in the works later on. As players take turns laying down cards, they need to try to outdo the previous player with a higher matching combination of cards. But watch out for the number 8, because when someone plays an 8, everyone else has to pass, giving them a free chance to lead the next trick. And if you're holding onto an 8 in your set-aside cards, you can declare "donden" and flip the entire game on its head, making 1s the high cards and 15s the low ones. It's a game of strategy and cunning, as you try to outmaneuver your opponents and be the last one standing. And with the unique ladder climbing mechanism, players can move up or down the ranks, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game.
