In ONDA, you'll ride the waves of chance and strategy with 2 to 5 friends, trying to outmaneuver each other in a game of hand management and ladder climbing. The goal is simple: be the first to play all your cards, but it's not as easy as it sounds. As you compose wave formations using cards from your hand, you'll need to adapt to the current tide, which can turn at any moment. With high numbers being better than low one moment, and vice versa the next, you'll need to think on your feet to come out on top. A typical round in ONDA starts with each player placing two cards face down in front of them, which can be used as wild cards to enhance their formations. Then, the lead player sets the tone with a single card, a set of identical cards, or a sequence of cards. From there, players can try to outdo each other by playing better formations, but they can also choose to pass or turn the tide to their advantage. That's where things can get really interesting, as six types of bombs can be played to upset the balance and change the formation that players need to beat. With a playtime of just 30 to 40 minutes, ONDA is a quick and exciting game that's easy to learn, making it perfect for game nights with friends. Since points are lost based on the cards left in your hand, it's crucial to time your moves just right.
