Description

In the world of Museum, the wonders of the archaeological world are on full display, but what lies in the shadows is just as intriguing. Welcome to the Black Market, a darker side of the museum world where anything can be obtained, for a price. This expansion, designed by Eric Dubus and Olivier Melison, adds a market system to the game, allowing you to purchase Objects and Notoriety cards to complete your collections and disrupt your opponents' plans. With simple rules that can be explained quickly, you'll be diving into the Black Market in no time, navigating the complex web of buying and scheming with 2 to 5 players. The Black Market introduces 30 new object cards, each with a unique appearance and only one attribute, which can be purchased to give your collections a much-needed boost. You'll find objects like the Viking Longship, which only has a Navigation Icon, or the Terracotta army, which counts as a Chinese card. But that's not all - the expansion also includes Notoriety cards that allow you to sabotage your opponents, stealing their objects, creating counterfeits, and even stealing prestige right from under their noses. These cards are purchased like any other object and follow the same rules, but with more aggressive effects. All these new cards are available on a separate market board, where their cost will decrease over time, making you decide whether to shell out early or wait for a better price, risking them being snatched up by others. As you navigate the Black Market, you'll need to balance your strategy with the risks and rewards of buying and scheming. With 60 new Contraband cards, including objects, Notoriety cards, and more, you'll have plenty of opportunities to outmaneuver your opponents. The game plays out over 30 to 60 minutes, giving you just the right amount of time to build your collections and disrupt your opponents' plans. Whether you're a seasoned Museum player or new to the game, the Black Market expansion offers a fresh and exciting experience, adding a new layer of depth and complexity to the game. Published in 2018, this expansion is compatible with the Museum Kickstarter Edition and the base game, making it easy to integrate into your existing collection.
