Description

In the scorching desert sand, you stumble upon an ancient excavation site, not far from the oldest pyramid in the world. At first, you're met with broken vessels and worthless chunks of stone, but as you dig deeper, you'll uncover more valuable artifacts. Your goal is to collect and strategically place these findings in a common collection, aiming to transfer them to the local museum for a hefty profit. You're not alone, though - you're competing against other archaeologists to be crowned the most successful. The game is incredibly easy to pick up, with simple rules that can be explained in no time, making it accessible to players of all ages and experience levels. On your turn, you have two options: play exactly two cards from your hand or draw as many cards as you like, as long as you don't exceed the five-card hand limit. This is where the strategy kicks in - you need to play your cards cleverly to reach a card value of 15 in the common display, earning you prestige. The player with the most prestige at the end of the game takes the top spot. With hand management and card drafting mechanics, you'll need to think carefully about which cards to play and when to draw new ones. Saqqara is a quick and engaging game that can be played with two to four players in just 10 to 20 minutes. Designed by Florin Purluca and released in 2023, it's a great addition to any card game collection. The combination of simple rules and strategic depth makes it a great choice for a casual game night or a quick break from more complex games. So gather your friends, grab some cards, and get ready to uncover the secrets of Saqqara - who will be the most successful archaeologist of the night?
