In Drachentreppe, you'll embark on a thrilling adventure with your fellow players, each guiding three magicians up the dragon stairs. With a playtime of just 20 to 40 minutes, this game is perfect for a quick gathering with friends or family, accommodating 3 to 6 players. Designed by Werner Hodel and released in 2024, Drachentreppe is an excellent choice for a children's game, with simple rules that can be explained quickly, making it easy for everyone to jump in and start playing. As you navigate the dragon stairs, you'll use dice rolling to determine your magicians' movements. A roll of 1, 2, or 3 will move your magician up the corresponding number of steps, while an up arrow will allow you to jump to the next higher step occupied by another magician. But beware, as a roll of the dragon will place it on your step, and you'll need to take a dragon egg from the supply. If you roll a down arrow, you can either use a dragon egg to protect your magician from falling or watch as they tumble down the stairs until caught by one of your other magicians. The goal is to collect dragon eggs and reach the top of the stairs, all while strategically moving your magicians to outmaneuver your opponents. As players move up the stairs, they'll need to be mindful of the dragons and eggs scattered throughout. When a magician moves up and passes a dragon egg or lands on the same step as one, they'll collect it, earning them valuable points. The game ends when one player has all three magicians on the top step, and points are awarded for the number of magicians that made it to the top and the number of eggs collected.
